Investor, Leadership Coach, Former CEO, and Advocate for Conscious Business

Born in Berlin and raised across Germany, Dr. Markus Rechlin’s career spans over three decades across executive leadership, private equity, and strategic consulting. With a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen and early scholarships recognizing his academic excellence, he began his career in business consulting before stepping into leadership roles at Drägerwerk, CCP Capital, Bain Capital, and later as CEO of SLM Solutions Group AG.

Today, Markus leads MAREVEST Beteiligungs GmbH, where he invests in and supports midsized companies in the DACH region. His current work revolves around two synergistic pillars:

• Co-investing in promising midsized enterprises, and
  
• Coaching leadership teams in strategy, people leadership, and culture.
  

Rather than managing a traditional corporate structure, Markus collaborates with a trusted network of partners across investment and consulting projects, creating a highly flexible and impact-driven model.

He is also currently writing a book aimed at helping executives lead with intention and develop their companies holistically—integrating "hard" strategic factors with the often-overlooked "soft" elements like mindset, culture, and emotional intelligence.

Outside of work, Markus is a devoted practitioner of meditation, yoga, and energy-based routines. He believes that cultivating personal energy, self-awareness, and authentic connection are foundational to leading effectively in business and life.
